Two people who stood up for themselves and others
Martin Luther King believed that it was not right to separate white people from black people and that white people are not better than black people, as many thought at the time. He saw that black people were being disadvantaged, like having to give up their seats on busses and even having to go to different schools. One day he said a speech at the Lincoln Memorial at Washington DC, which made a lot of people listen to what the black people were fighting for.
Martin Luther King had his first experience of segregation at just six years old when he was told he wasn’t allowed to play with his white friend anymore because his friend’s father wouldn’t allow it. In our day we are aloud to play with anyone we choose, which I think is the way it should be.
Rosa Park´s birth name is Rosa Louise McCauley. Rosa was born on February the 4th 1913 in Tuskegee Alabama. She died on the 25th October 2005. She was 92 years old. At a young age her parents split up so Rosa and her mother decided to live in Pine Level, Alabama were her Grandparents lived.
Rosa Parks is very famous for refusing to give her seat up to a white person just because of her skin colour. She was arrested for refusing to move seats for a white person. I think it was wrong for her to be arrested. I think she did the right thing because everyone should be treated equally. It´s only skin color you can change how you are born.

ReplyDeleteYou have created an excellent post here about Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. I think the message that you are spreading through this post is fantastic, and am amazed with the amount of information, and effort you have put into this post!
Martin Luther King was such an inspiring, confident man who was not afraid to stand up for what he believed in. He fought against segregation his entire life and helped to make such a difference in our world.
Has there ever been a time where you felt you helped make a difference?
Rosa Park is another outstanding figure who fought against segregation. Rather than obey racist laws, Rosa refused to give up her seat on a bus, resulting in police assistance.
Sometimes you need to stand up for what you believe in, even if other people are telling you that you’re wrong. These two individuals are excellent examples of this.
Overall, I am exceedingly impressed with the content of your blog posts!
Keep up the great work.
