Air Ambulance and Fire Service

The air ambulance and the fire service help save our lives.  These two teams work really hard every day.  None of these services would get the day off for Christmas Day or Easter or any Holidays unless they are rostered off.

Right now the fires in New South Wales, Australia are battling on so most of the fire fighters will have to help try defeat the fire.  But there is not just one there is 150 at the moment.  Here are some ways that can make a fire start and spread Lightning, car crashes, Chemicals, structure fires and arson.

What do firefighters have to wear?  Firefighters have to wear special helmets so they don't breath in smoke.  Firefighters have to wear waterproof rubber gumboots, they have to wear turn out pants and a jacket, they have to wear glove as well.  These are all fire resent to help protect the fire fighters.

One thing the New Zealand Air Emergency team does is fly people to the places that they need to go for their operations or specialist treatment.  There latest technology is the Jet aircraft.  They have to work 24 hours 7 days a week.  The Air Emergency crew always have a nurse on board.  The  Air Emergency team is based in Auckland at the starship hospital.  Just remember if there is a emergency call 111 even if you are not sure the person will tell you what to do.

You have done an outstanding job participating in the Summer Learning Journey and creating this blog post about the Air Ambulance and Fire Service.
I really like how you have included both the outfits they need to wear, and the work that they do. This really helps paint the picture of Air Ambulances and Fire Services to your viewers.
I found it extremely interesting to learn how firefighters have to wear waterproof rubber gumboots. It really makes me wonder why they need to be waterproof, and how the rubber doesn’t melt while near the fires.
    What are your thoughts?
This team sounds amazing, and it is fantastic how they all work together to save the lives of many.
