Lockdown at my house

While we've been in lockdown I have been playing outside. Some of the things I have been doing are riding my bike, playing swingball with my Mum and Dad, playing basketball when my brothers have free time. My Dad also found my brothers old slot car set so I've been playing with that as well. I have also been making a Meccano car this belongs to my eldest brother. It is remote control so I can't wait to drive it.

We have also been watching mass in the dining room which is very different than walking down to church. Last Friday we watched stations of the cross that involved walking down the hall to get to the dining room to watch Stations of the cross.

Each week Scouts New Zealand are sending through three challenges for the week. One of the scout challenges was to make something in the kitchen. So Mum and I made Rhubarb crumble for pudding last night. Today's challenge is to make a shelter. I think I will have to do it inside today because its pouring with rain.

We have been playing family board games after lunch each day. So far we have played Monopoly, Catan, Tri-ominos. Today we are going to play Monopoly. Mum and I have also been playing cards.

I have been reading a Kids national geographic I have finished reading Wombat Chronicles. I am reading Lost wonders vanished creatures of Aotearoa. This book is about extinct birds of New Zealand and people finding their fossils.I have also been reading the school journals. I have been doing a kids stuff quiz every day. I also have been listening to David walliams read a chapter of One of the worlds worst children series each morning.

  2. Hi Benjamin
Sounds like you have been keeping very busy so far! I love that you have also been lots of reading. I have been able to read each night and this makes me happy.

I have been doing lots of baking recently and I have some rhubarb in our garden that I eyed up the other day and thought that I should turn into apple crumble - I think you have inspired me to do so! I will let you know. Did the rhubarb come from your own garden? If so, what else do you make with it?
